Diabetes Safety Organisation takes the standard of its courses very seriously. For this reason, the below statement sets out how we ensure the standard of our services is maintained.
Course reviews form an integral part of Diabetes Safety Organisation’s quality assurance system.
The focus of course reviews is on:
• appropriateness of the content and assessment method in order to achieve the learning outcomes,
• course content being up to date and accurate.
Responsibility
Responsibility for course review and recommendations being addressed rest with the Lead Educator. Responsibility for conducting the review lies with the Directors.
Frequency
Each course is reviewed yearly. The course is reviewed by both legal representatives and medical representatives.
The legal aspects of the course will be reviewed by Gowling WLG yearly.
The medical board is made up from 4-6 representatives and at each review 3 will be randomly picked and asked to review all courses.
Timing
At the review date each representative will be given 30 days to review the courses and report back to the Lead Educator. The Lead Educator will then have a further 30 days to write a report of what appropriate changes need to be made. Changes need to be completed within 60 days of the report.
Reporting
A brief report focusing on the strengths and plans for improvement identified during the review will be submitted to the Lead Educator.
